Here is the full version of SIGHT & SOUND Episode 2 – The Nikhil Korula Acoustic Duo with Marty Rifkin. In all of these performances, we play some original songs from our debut album, THE FREEDOM EP (2003) as an acoustic duo and cover “Message In A Bottle,” the Police hit song and also perform Tom Petty’s classic song, “Wildflowers,” from the WILDFLOWERS album that Marty Rifkin recorded pedal steel guitar on with Tom Petty. & The Heartbreakers. Marty has played with Dwight Yoakam, Glen Campbell, Jewel, Fastball and legends like Bruce Springsteen as one of his touring musicians over the years and is truly one of my favorite musicians to work with. Over the years, Marty has recorded pedal steel guitar with the Nikhil Korula Band on “Home,” and “Save The World” from MUSIC OF THE NEW DAY (2012), ” and also recently recorded with us on REVOLUTIONS (2021) on several tracks such as “Power Through The Pain,” “I Wish I Knew” and “Testify.” If you don’t know Marty Rifkin, you should. He was one of Los Angeles’s crown jewels on pedal steel guitar which is why he has played and recorded with so many legends. Marty has so many platinum and gold albums he has played on, there just isn’t enough wall space to have them all up, too. Like I said with Episode 1, this combination of musicianship is what made me want to create this entire live recorded series. Enjoy this first full episode in it’s entirety of SIGHT & SOUND!
